Term Topic

Our topic this term is "Wise up on Waste - the 3 R's"
Starting on Tuesday at 10am through to Wednesday at 10am, we collected all the rubbish we created into plastic bags.   At school we then did a tally chart and graph to show all the things we had in our bags.
As a class we sorted them into groups......

 We have created an experiment about what happens when we put all this into a landfill.
We dug some holes in a garden near our classroom.

 And put some bits from each catergory into the hole.

 

After that we put some dirt back over the top to fill the hole in.

We marked each testing site with a plastic label to mark it.

After a few weeks and before the end of the term we will dig up each hole again to note any changes in the mixutre of things we buried in Te Tama's landfill.
